Federation University’s international scholarships recognise your academic excellence, hard work, and potential.

Each scholarship has its own eligibility criteria, requirements, and conditions. You may qualify for more than one scholarship, and in most cases, you’ll be automatically considered when you apply for your course.

The Federation Merit Scholarship is awarded to eligible international students who have achieved strong academic results in their previous studies. This scholarship supports high-performing students as they pursue undergraduate or postgraduate study at Federation University.

If you have an average of 75% (or equivalent) or higher in previous studies that are the basis of admission, you will receive a 20% tuition fee scholarship. The Federation Merit Scholarship is initially awarded for a period of two semesters. Continuation of the scholarship beyond this period is subject to ongoing academic performance as outlined in the terms and conditions.

Prospective international students will automatically be assessed for an offer of a Merit Scholarship to at the time they receive an offer to study at Federation University. No additional application is required.

The Partner Scholarship is available to international students transferring from a Federation offshore delivery partner or a student who has completed XCore units with Employability.Life.

Eligible students will receive a 20% tuition fee discount and must meet the terms and conditions as set out below.

International students will be automatically assessed for this scholarship at the time they receive an offer to study at Federation University. No additional application is required.

This scholarship is designed to assist international students who begin their academic journey through a qualifying pathway course before progressing into a Federation University degree. This scholarship recognises students' commitment and academic potential as they transition into higher education.

The Federation Pathways Scholarship is equivalent to 10% of the annual tuition fees for the pathways course.

International students will be automatically assessed for this scholarship at the time they receive an offer to study at Federation University. No additional application is required.

Federation University is pleased to offer the Early Bird Bursary to international students who apply and accept their offer to study with us ahead of the deadline.

This bursary recognises students who are proactive in planning their studies and provides financial support to assist with study costs.

Successful applicants will receive a tuition fee discount of AUD $3,000, applied in their third semester of study.

This scholarship supports international students as they transition to life in Australia and is available to international students who elect to reside in Federation University-managed accommodation.

By choosing to live in university accommodation, students become part of a welcoming and supportive campus community, enhancing their overall Australian university experience.

Federation’s campuses provide a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment where you can focus on your studies and build lasting friendships.

Commencing international students joining the FedLiving community at our Mt Helen, Berwick and Gippsland campuses are eligible for up to $1,000 scholarship per semester (for a maximum of two semesters, subject to $550 acceptance fee).

International students will be automatically assessed for an offer of an accommodation scholarship at the time they receive an offer to study at the university.

Federation University Vice-Chancellors Awards recognise and support outstanding academic achievers from designated regions (South Asia, Southeast Asia, and China). These scholarships aim to reward academic excellence and foster leadership and community engagement within the University environment.

These prestigious scholarships provide a 50% tuition fee scholarship to students who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and leadership qualities.

To be considered for this scholarship, applicants must meet all the following criteria:

  • Be enrolling as a commencing international student in 2026 who is a citizen of one of the following regions:
    • South Asia
    • Southeast Asia
    • China
  • Have achieved an average mark of 90% or equivalent in previous studies that are the basis of admission.
  • Submit a separate scholarship application and participate in an interview process.
  • Eligible to study in Australia with a valid visa.
  • Meet the additional terms and conditions as set out below.
  • The Vice-Chancellors Award covers 50% of the tuition fees and is initially awarded for a period of two semesters. Continuation of the scholarship beyond this period is subject to ongoing academic performance as outlined in the terms and conditions.

This is a competitive scholarship aimed at students with exceptional academic performance and a strong commitment to contributing positively to the Federation University community.
