Resource Sharing Service – Possible inter-library loan delays
Posted: Sunday 30 March 2025The national resource sharing infrastructure which we and other libraries rely on to supply documents and inter library loans to our users is being replaced with a new national resource sharing service with all the current core functions and a host of significant improvements. This system will provide more effective workflows which will support us in providing you with an effective and timely service. Unfortunately, the transition will create some impact on services in the short term.
As we move through April and May many of the libraries who supply us with inter-library loans will stop supplying physical items as they transition to the new system. This means it may take us longer to source the books and other physical items you request. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience. The provision of electronic documents (journal articles, book chapters or excerpts and similar) is less likely to be affected.
If you have any questions or concerns about this impact to service, please feel free to contact me to discuss further.
