Upcoming disruption to Resource Sharing services
Posted: Wednesday 19 February 2025The National Library of Australia’s Trove has coordinated the sharing of resources among Australian Libraries for over 33 years, providing access to resources beyond local library collections for researchers. The system used for coordinating this resource sharing has reached end of life and is being replaced.
This will require a disruption to Inter-library loan services from approximately the end of March until late April/early May while the old system is decommissioned and the new system is onboarded. Australian Libraries will stop lending physical items towards the end of March in the old system and will not begin to lend again until the new system is operational.
Federation Library is providing advanced notice of this service disruption to provide researchers with extra time to prepare. We ask that you evaluate, to the extent possible, what physical resources you may need over the coming few months and request these as soon as possible to ensure that we can obtain these for you before the end of March.
