We are dedicated to increasing the higher education participation rate of students from regional and rural areas. To support this aim we are pleased to offer an Open Access selection model.
How does Open Access work?
Open Access programs are those whose entry is based on applicants meeting prerequisite units (and their study scores) rather than a minimum Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR). For current Year 12 students this means that, provided you have met the prerequisites of your chosen program of study, your achieved ATAR is not a factor in our decision to offer a place; therefore, your study scores will indicate your eligibility for a place when you receive your school results in December.
When will I find out about my offer?
- If you apply for an Open Access program you will know whether or not you are eligible for an offer from FedUni when you receive your school results in December;
- If you meet the prerequisites of your chosen program, you will receive the official offer letter in the Main round (Wednesday 18 January 2017), subject to availability of places.
How do I apply?
Simply list the chosen Open Access program/s in your VTAC preferences. You do not need to apply for Open Access under a separate SEAS category.
