From TAFE to undergraduate

If you don't meet undergraduate entry requirements, start with a TAFE course and gain the skills you need to transition to your dream degree.

First stop, TAFE

If you don’t meet the entry requirements for your dream course, use a TAFE qualification as a stepping-stone. You’ll get the skills you need to transition easily into a related higher education course. There are so many pathway options, and lots of our certificate or diploma courses give you credit towards a relevant degree.

Work your way up from a Certificate II.
End up with two complete qualifications.

Pathway ideas

This table lists our most popular TAFE-to-higher-ed pathways and gives you an idea of the credit points awarded. Course you’re considering not there? See if it’s in our course finder and do a credit search

Note: Most undergraduate units (subjects) are worth 15 credit points. A one-year, full-time study load is equal to 120 credit points.
