Templates and notices

Staff are advised to include the following notice or attributions with the material they copy or communicate under licence wherever practicable. This is to make clear the licence the content has been made available under, and also to limit the potential liability of the University if students were to use material in unauthorised manner that may infringe copyright.

There is no requirement or prescribed notice to attach when using content under s.113P, however best practice is to either use a notice or an attribution with a URL link to the notice below.

The music licence requires that all copies of music made under the licence carry a prescribed notice plus full details of the title, composer, lyricist, arranger, artist/group and record company.

All machinery capable of copying either print and graphic material (such a photocopiers) or audio-visual material (such as PCs or video recorders) for student use must have A4 size hard copy notices displayed next to them. This is a legal requirement that protects the University and must be strictly adhered to. The appropriate notices are:
