Biography
Associate Professor Anna Fletcher is the Director of Industry Cooperation in the Institute of Education, Arts and Community at Federation University Australia. As Director, she leads the Institute’s collaboration with industry, the community, business and government to establish genuine partnerships built on shared goals in the form of research linkages, industry linkages, short courses and exchange projects. A partnership with the Institute of Education, Arts and Community provides connections to the Institute’s research expertise, access to professional development, and opportunities to work with or mentor our students.
Anna’s provision of future-focused high-quality learning opportunities for students has been recognised in awards such as the Australian Awards of University Teaching (AAUT) Citation for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning (2020), Vice-Chancellor’s Award, Early Career Citation for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning, Federation University Australia (2017); and the Faculty of Education Individual Award: Teaching Excellence, Charles Sturt University, 2015.
Expertise
Dr Anna Fletcher is internationally recognised for her research which describes, implements and theorises effective classroom assessment applications to promote student voice, student agency and self-regulated learning. Her publications address: 1) student agency, achievement and self-efficacy within classroom assessment; 2) practitioner research and teachers’ capacity building; and 3) the role of education to build human capital in place-based contexts. She has successfully won, led, and project managed funded projects to a value of 300K AUD, resulting in projects being completed within budget and on time. Since 2017, Anna’s contribution to Initial Teacher Education and research at national level has been manifested through her work on the consortia of Australian universities developing and implementing the Graduate Teaching Performance Assessment (GTPA); and by co-convening the Australian Association of Research in Education (AARE) Assessment and Measurement Special Interest Group. At international level, Anna works closely with Scandinavian researchers, school leaders and entrepreneurs on a funded (780K AUD) multidisciplinary secondary school development project.
