Create meaningful placements as a co-op partner

An online program to support mentors, supervisors and organisational leaders as you guide students through co-operative learning placements.

Introducing the program

Hear from Leigh Kennedy, Associate Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Engagement at Federation University

How the program works

Watch a series of short videos designed to support you through each stage of hosting a student placement.

You can watch the videos in any order, whenever it suits you. Whether you follow them sequentially or dip in and out, the content is there to guide you when you need it.

Throughout the program, you’ll hear from people who have supervised placements, supported students, or been students themselves. Their insights offer a well-rounded view of how to create a valuable and rewarding placement experience.

Phase 1
Prepare to host a co-op placement
Phase 2
Welcome your co-op placement student
Phase 3
Provide support during placement as a co-op host
Phase 4
Connect with other opportunities as a co-op partner
There are naturally people in the workplace who are really lifted by the honour of being able to coach and mentor other people. Students coming into the workplace gives those people an opportunity to shine and embrace what it is that they love to do."
— Sara Rhodes-Ward, Regional Director for Gippsland, Regional Development Victoria
