What are some of your career highlights?

I was able to get an amazing job - Grade 3 (Senior Social Worker role) with SCHADS Award Level 6 even before completing my Master's at Federation University.

I feel very much fit in the sector especially after having a background of Human Rights (Masters level from University of Colombo)

Describe the most enjoyable and challenging aspects of your job

The satisfaction I get while and after supporting High Risk Clients is amazing.  I enjoy it to the fullest knowing that I have saved some lives (woman and children) who are directly experienced / exposed to Family Violence.

Major challenges I would say - The level of risk that we handle and the amount of stress that we deal with every day.  Self-care is vital in this area of work.

What are your strongest memories while you were studying at Federation University?

The support given by the lecturers and the course coordinators throughout the program and the great friends I came to know.  It was a great place to learn and reflect on our work.

Do you have any advice about life after study to pass on to current students?

Anything is possible if you have the correct understanding of what you are doing and just work on what you enjoy doing  The result will be beautiful if you do the things on time and by having the right people around you.
