1969 Final Year SMB Mechanical Engineering Alumni Reunion

Graduates of the School of Mines Ballarat (SMB) toured both the FedUni SMB and Mt Helen campuses as part of their 50 year Alumni Reunion in April.

1969 was the last year Mechanical Engineering was taught at SMB with relocation of the course to the Mt Helen campus in 1970.

Sixteen alumni attended with 10 graduates and partners travelling from the USA for the reunion. Lecturers including Edward John (Jack) Barker, 1949-1960 Mechanical Engineering Lecturer; and Derek Woolley, Head, Mechanical Engineering, SMB, also attended.

Alumni enjoyed catching up over three days presenting career summaries, meeting Associate Professor Sam Henson, Head of Campus, Ballarat; and taking part in a number of informal activities.
