Academic Board Steering Committee

The Academic Board Steering Committee is a standing committee of the Academic Board responsible for managing and scheduling the business of the Academic Board.

The functions of the Committee include:

  • plan the annual program of business for the Academic Board;
  • develop agendas and meting papers for meetings of the Academic Board;
  • advise and facilitate the flow of business to the Academic Board;

and other functions and responsibilities, as outlined in the Charter

Membership of the Committee comprises:

  • Chair (the Chair of the Academic Board)
  • Deputy Chair
  • Deputy Vice-Chancellor Global, Engagement and Quality
  • Pro Vice-Chancellor VET and Pathways and Chief Executive, TAFE
  • Pro Vice-Chancellors of Research; Learning and Teaching; and Innovation (optional)
  • Chief Learner Experience Officer (or nominee)
  • Chairs of Curriculum Committee, Learning and Teaching Quality Committee and Research Committee

Curriculum Committee

The Curriculum Committee is a standing committee of the Academic Board responsible for assessing and recommending the approval of proposed new courses and all University qualifications leading to a formal award under the Australian Qualifications Framework, to the Academic Board.

Functions and responsibilities of Curriculum Committee are outlined in the Charter

Membership of the Committee comprises:

  • Chair, a nominee of the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Learning and Teaching)
  • Chairs of the TAFE Course Approval Committee (or nominee); Learning and Teaching Quality Committee
  • Chair, Academic Board (or nominee)
  • Dean, Graduate Research (or nominee)
  • Executive Director, Global (or nominee)
  • Dean, Quality and Accreditation (or nominee)
  • Chief Learner Experience Officer (or nominee)
  • Associate Deans, Learning and Teaching of each Institute
  • Pro Vice-Chancellor VET and Pathways and Chief Executive, TAFE (or nominee)
  • Director, Student Services and Registrar (or nominee)
  • Nominee of the Chief Operating Officer
  • up to four co-opted members

Learning and Teaching Quality Committee

Learning and Teaching Quality Committee is a standing committee of the Academic Board responsible for all learning and teaching quality matters, including:

  • providing advice to Academic Board on the quality of teaching and learning delivery high learner satisfaction and graduate outcomes;
  • assuring sustainable, high academic standards
  • reviewing and monitoring implementation of policy and procedures on teaching and learning to assure quality, innovation, learner satisfaction and graduate outcomes;
  • ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulatory requirements
