Biography

Dr Yutang Wang has broad research interest in investigating the pathogenesis of cardiovascular diseases including atherosclerosis, hypertension, diabetes, abdominal aortic aneurysm and heart hypertrophy.

Dr Wang received a research grant from the National Health and Medical Research Council in 2014, investigating the effect of renal sympathetic nerves on hypertension and atherosclerosis. He is also actively investigating the effect of uric acid on a range of diseases such as hypertension, diabetes and chronic kidney disease.

Yutang is a member of the American Heart Association and High Blood Pressure Research Council of Australia. He has published widely in peer-reviewed journals and is also an Editor of the journal Medicine.

Yutang is currently Senior Lecturer in biomedical science at Federation University Australia. He received his PhD in physiology in 2013.
