Biography

Dr Rachel Daniel has significant expertise in English language teaching including teaching English to speakers of other languages, English language acquisition, academic writing and foundation literacy and numeracy.

Dr Daniel’s recent research includes the integration of the Education for Sustainability framework in curriculum and examining the impact of new Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency guidelines for English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students programs. Rachel has also recently undertaken an analysis of entry and exit test scores of speaking, listening, writing, and reading against competency in the English and Academic Preparation (EAP) program. Another recent project involved measuring the vocabulary knowledge of international and domestic students across programs in the university and TAFE sectors.

Rachel coordinates the EAP program and lectures in academic writing at Federation University Australia. She currently supervises three PhD students.
