Biography

Dr Peter Sellings is a teacher educator at the Mt Helen Campus of Federation University Australia.

Dr Sellings thoroughly enjoys teaching people of all ages and is currently developing his understanding of the importance of thinking routines. Peter has a long-standing interest in mathematics and science education and is committed to the development of teachers who can engage students by putting learning into context. He has been a contributing editor to two books on personalised learning and is currently researching the Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education.

Peter worked at Monash University as a science education officer with the Gippsland Access and Participation project while completing his PhD, which examined secondary school student engagement.

Peter has 23 years’ experience in school education included as the Principal of a small Gippsland secondary school and teaching in a variety of P-12 and Secondary settings in regional and remote schools.
