Biography

Muhammad Imran is an associate professor of information technology in the Institute of Innovation, Science and Sustainability at Federation University Australia. His research interest includes Cybersecurity and IoT. He is the founding leader of the Wireless Networks and Security (WINS) research group. He has completed a number of international collaborative research projects worth more than $3.2 Million with reputable international universities and industries. He has supervised and co-supervised more than thirty-five HDR students.

Imran has published more than 375 research articles in peer-reviewed, highly reputable international conferences, and journals. He was included in the prestigious global rankings (Web of Science Highly Cited Researcher 0.01%, Scholar GPS 0.05%, and Stanford University 2%) as top scientist. His outstanding research contributions accrued more than 32700 citations across the globe. He served as an Editor in Chief, guest editor, and associate editor for half dozen reputable international journals including the IEEE Network, Future Generation Computer Systems, and IEEE Communications Magazine. He also served as a guest editor for more than two dozen special issues in highly ranked journal. He has been consecutively awarded with Outstanding Associate Editor of FGCS, IEEE Access in 2018, 2019, and 2021 respectively. He served as a chair, co-chair and a member of technical program committees of more than a hundred international conferences.
