Biography

Beatrice is a social worker in the Institute of Education, Arts and Community. Beatrice joined Federation University in June 2024, coming from industry. Prior to joining Federation University, Beatrice worked at The Orange Door as a senior practitioner from January 2024 – mid June 2024. Previously she worked for the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (January 2019 – January 2024) as an advanced child protection practitioner and acted as a senior child protection practitioner on a few occasions. Before coming to Australia, Beatrice worked for various International NGOs (World Vision International, Danish Association for International Cooperation (MS Zimbabwe), Action Aid International, American Jewish World Service and Trocaire) where she managed development programs in the following areas: child rights, sponsorship and safeguarding, HIV and AIDS, sustainable livelihoods, women’s empowerment and governance and human rights. Beatrice also led the capacity building of partner organisations. Beatrice also served in the change management committee when the Danish Association for International Cooperation (MS Zimbabwe) merged with Action Aid International.

Beatrice’s areas of expertise are promoting children’s rights and women empowerment, child protection, empowering families, developing, and managing community development programs.
