Regulatory requirements
Currently, higher education and vocational education and training is regulated as follows:
- VET programs are regulated by the National Vet Regulator - the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) through the National Vocational Education and Training Regulator Act 2011 and associated pieces of legislation; and the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions (DJSIR) contract requirements;
- Higher education programs are regulated by the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) through the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 and associated pieces of legislation;
- Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) Vocational Major Programs are regulated by the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority through the Minimum Standards for Registration to provide an Accredited Senior Secondary Qualification.
The specific interests of our international students are assured by the Educational Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) Act and the National Code.
