Biography

Dr. Md Liton Hossain has been a postdoctoral research fellow at Federation University Australia since July 2024. He earned his PhD from Curtin University in 2020, with a focus on "Control of a Multilevel Inverter for Wind Energy Conversion System with Energy Storage and Condition Monitoring Options."

Dr. Hossain's pioneering work includes designing and simulating a novel multilevel inverter for wind energy systems, demonstrating substantial performance improvements. He developed a hardware prototype using SEMIKRON semiconductor devices and Texas Instruments DSP boards, enhancing renewable energy integration into smart grids. He also created an IoT solution for remote wind energy monitoring using ARDUINO technology.

Before joining Federation University, Dr. Hossain was an Assistant Professor at the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh, teaching and supervising capstone projects in renewable energy and related fields. He has also worked as a Lecturer and casual academic in various institutions.

An active IEEE member, Dr. Hossain’s research is widely published, and he frequently reviews for international journals and conferences. His academic background includes a Master of science in Electrical Engineering from Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Khulna University of Engineering & Technology, both fully funded by scholarships.
