Uncovering Ballarat’s dark criminal past

The secrets of Ballarat's dark past will be uncovered as part of the city's Heritage Festival.

Federation University historian David Waldron is behind a series of guided tours of the old Ballarat Gaol, now the site of the SMB Campus.

The gaol's colourful history will be told through artefacts, blueprints and images, and a virtual reality tour of the site's tunnels and turrets.

The tours will run hourly from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on May 28 and 29. Click here for tickets and more information.
