Malware Reverse Engineering Conference 2015

Malware is an ever increasing problem in both our work and public lives.  The Internet Commerce Security Laboratory (ICSL) will again be hosting the Malware Reverse Engineering Conference 2015 (MRE 2015) on the 1st & 2nd October 2015 in Melbourne.

MRE 2015 provides a bridge between industry, law enforcement and academia with a strong focus on practical results from research and development projects in malware engineering.

The Conference aims to cover:

  • Reverse engineering methods, analysis and algorithms
  • Behavioural and attribution analysis of malware
  • Impacts into the financial, security and government sector

Talks are focused on practice and implementations, including topics such as reverse engineering of malware, bahvioural analysis and attributing malware.

The conference is targeted at industry representatives including but not limited to the financial sector, property management sector, security industry, communication industry, government departments as well as students and academia.

Thursday 1 October 2015

This workshop is academically focused with a range of invited resarch talks from leading academics on the advances in state of the art malware reverse engineering.

Friday 2 October 2015

The day is industry focused with a range of excellent international, national and local speakers.

Keynote speakers include:

Prof Arun Lakhotia, Professor Computer Science, Centre for Advanced Computer Studies, University of Louisiana at Lafayette, USA and the Director of Software Research.  His topic will be Harnessing Intelligence from Malware Repositories.

Dr Mike Davies, Research Leader Cyber Assurance and Operations, Defence Science and Technology Group (DST Group) whose  topic is Combatting Anti-Reverse Engineering Techniques.
