The Internet Commerce Security Laboratory (ICSL) is a research unit of Federation University Australia, in the Institute of Innovation, Science and Sustainability. The ICSL is financially supported by Federation University Australia, Westpac, IBM, the State of Victoria and the Australian Federal Police.

The Laboratory is located in the Greenhill Enterprise Centre of the Ballarat Technology Park, Mt Helen Campus.

Our objectives are:

1. to address commercially relevant security issues affecting the continued uptake of internet commerce
2. to focus on research into fraud and associated illegal activity in the internet commerce sector
3. to enhance the knowledge and tools available for the development of simple safe and secure environments to support the continued uptake of internet commerce and identity management, and
4. build a state and national capacity to tackle security problems in internet commerce through highly-trained IT graduates.
