Membership Election
Notice of Staff nominations for appointment to University Academic Governance bodies
Nominations are invited from eligible Federation University staff to seek appointment to the following Academic Governance bodies:
- One general/professional member of staff (Casual Vacancy: term effective immediately following the election period, through to 31 December 2026)
- One Higher Education Academic at Level D – E (term effective immediately following the election period, through to 31 December 2027)
Nomination acceptance period:
- Open: 16th January 2026 at 9:00 am
- Close: 23rd January 2026 at 6:00 pm
To nominate, please complete the applicable online form below and submit prior to the close of nominations.

Successful completion of your nomination will require:
- the inclusion of contact details for two other staff members who endorse your nomination.
- the opportunity to upload a candidate statement of up to 250-words to support your nomination to be published on the voting form in the event of a ballot being required. Your statement may include your interest in the position, experience, or what you hope to contribute to the role.
- acceptance that you meet the eligibility criteria as specified below.
Eligibility
You are eligible to nominate for a position in this election if you:
- are employed by the University within Australia as a staff member at a time fraction of 0.5 or more
- satisfy the fit and proper person requirements specified by TEQSA and ASQA
- are not studying at the University at a time fraction of 0.5 or more
- are 18 years of age or over
- have completed any probationary period for employment
Notice of Ballot
An online ballot will be held for any position which receives more nominations than there are vacancies. Ballot forms will be available here when the ballot opens.
- Ballot opens: 27 January 2026 at 8 am
- Ballot closes: 2 February 2026 at 6 pm
Results: The successful candidates will be announced on FedNews and in FedEngage.
