Victoria Latin America Doctoral Scholarships

The Victoria Latin America Doctoral Scholarship is being offered in a partnership between the Victorian Government and the State's universities. The scholarships will help to build strong research links between Victorian and countries across the Latin America region.

Victoria's universities have collaborative research links with many international institutions and industry. A research qualification from a Victorian university is highly regarded internationally and creates a strong foundation for future career options.

Value

The Victoria Latin America Doctoral Scholarship program will award up to four scholarships in the 2016 intake. The $90,000 scholarship will be awarded to successful candidates over three years, with a State contribution of $15,000 per annum and a contribution from the host university of $15,000 minimum per annum and a full fee waiver to each scholarship recipient.

Eligibility

• Applicants must not be a citizen or Permanent Resident of Australia
• Be a citizen of a Latin American country - which includes all of South America, Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean.
• Be accepted into a doctoral program at a participating Victorian university to commence 2016.
• Have a record of high level academic achievement in the chosen field of study, as determined by the nominating university.
• Be intending to complete the majority of doctoral work in Victoria.
• Not hold a qualification regarded to be equivalent to an Australian research doctorate.
• Be willing to be an ambassador for the Victoria Latin America Doctoral Scholarship Program.
