FedReady

Prepare for study

Get the study skills for a confident start

Not sure what to expect when you start at uni? Don't worry, our short (but comprehensive) FedReady course will give you the best possible start.

It's totally free and covers all the study skills you need to feel confident from Day One. It's particularly useful if you're a first-time uni student but we recommend all our students register. You can even register if you've already completed a semester or two but are looking to sharpen your skills.

  • It's 100% online and self-paced, with pre-recorded classes and optional Q&A drop-in sessions, so you can log in whenever it suits you.
  • We recommend completing it (and the optional assessments) before semester starts on 3 March, as access will close after this date.
  • Set aside about 20–25 hours to finish the modules.

What you'll learn

FedReady gives you the skills you need to adjust to university study and succeed with flying colours. You'll learn how to:

  • manage your studies alongside your other commitments.
  • plan and write assignments
  • think critically
  • reference correctly
  • use the University library
  • use systems and technology you'll need for your course
