Workday transition: Stopping old processes, starting new ones

5 October 2023

I am excited to inform you that we’ve commenced the transition to Workday and we will now progressively stop using old processes and systems so we can start using Workday.

This process will take us several weeks, and we will keep you informed of the progress along the way. To make sure the transition runs smoothly, your cooperation and attention to timelines are more important now than ever.

Stay informed

We will be sending out regular communications to keep you in the loop.

Please ensure that you keep monitoring for program updates and announcements via the MyWorkday web portal and following MyWorkday on Fed Engage, so you can take action when needed.

Adhere to timelines

By following the transition timeline, acting promptly and adhering to due dates, we will be ready to start using Workday sooner.

From today, we ask that you:

  • Avoid updating your personal or bank details in ESS.  If you have an urgent need to do so, be mindful you may need to be re-enter it in Workday.
  • Avoid changes to jobs, compensation, and line management.  If you have an urgent need to do so, please contact your People and Capability Partner to explore possible options or alternatives.
  • Plan to action all outstanding leave bookings, time claims and ELMO training by late October. This will help you avoid manual workarounds or having to restart the activity in Workday.

Here's why it's crucial;

  • timely completion of tasks helps us maintain project momentum
  • it minimises the risk of delays and potential setbacks, and
  • ensures that our systems and processes will be ready as planned.

If you anticipate any challenges in meeting a specific deadline, please communicate this to your manager, supervisor or nearest Change Agent as soon as possible so that appropriate adjustments can be made.

We understand that meeting deadlines can sometimes be challenging, but your help makes a huge difference.  We are confident that, with your support and commitment, we will successfully navigate this phase and transition to Workday successfully.

If you have any other questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to myself or the workday@federation.edu.au team.
