Workday go-live for all staff approaching

8 November 2023

We’re well into our phased go-live of Workday now:

  • the People and Culture team have recently started using Workday, preparing
the system for all other users.
  • casual employees and their managers have also started using Workday, but solely to submit, review and approve timesheets.

Soon, Workday will go-live for all staff, so keep an eye out for MyWorkday messages via email and Fed Engage.

What to expect on Day 1

You will receive an email from workday@federation.edu.au containing a link to the Workday system and a ‘Getting started’ pack with detailed instructions.  Follow the instructions in the pack to log in and find your way around.  Try some simple activities like exploring the org chart and viewing your profile.

Your learning journey

You’re encouraged to take advantage of the Workday training offered to all staff from 20 November.  Training is tailored to the role(s) you play at the University, and by now, you would have received Teams Calendar invitations for all sessions that are relevant to you, so you can join from anywhere.

If you attend training and leverage all the resources at your fingertips, I have no doubt you’ll quickly feel comfortable with the new system and enjoy the many benefits it will bring us.

An exciting time for People and Culture at Federation University

Leading the People and Culture team in this project has been an absolute pleasure, and I'm looking forward to witnessing the outcomes of our collective efforts.  The dedication displayed by everyone involved has been truly remarkable as we strive to transform our people management practices.

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone across the University who plays a part in this program, as well as to each of you who are embracing the transition to Workday.  Finally, I would like to invite you to stay curious and stay positive as we adjust to our enhanced employee experience.

If you have any other questions or concerns, visit the MyWorkday portal or reach out to me or the Workday team at workday@federation.edu.au.
