Workday go-live approaching
30 October 2023
I am delighted to share with you that we have successfully achieved another major milestone in the transition to Workday – bringing us another step closer to go-live.
Thank you for your support
Thank you all for observing the timelines, and our managers for reviewing and approving requests in time. Entering your leave requests and time claims by the due dates has been a great help as today we stop using legacy systems. A reminder that ESS, the timesheet portal—and soon ELMO—are no longer in use for new records.
With your support we are in a great position to start using Workday. First, over the next few days, People and Culture will start using Workday and, soon after that, casual employees and their managers will start using it to manage timesheets.
In the final phase of the go-live process, all staff will start using Workday to manage their work-life at Federation University.
There will be a learning curve and you’ll be supported
As we approach our phased go-live, it’s important to remember that everyone at Federation will be on a learning curve, including our People and Culture team. We encourage you to take time to learn at your own pace, supported by the materials that will be available directly from Workday and the MyWorkday portal.
And if you have any feedback or issues when we go live, there’ll be a formal channel in place for you to share them with us. The Workday team will then review, prioritise and address them as quickly as possible.
What support will be available?
There will be several ways you can access support as outlined below:
Peer support
| Direct accessRecommended starting point for your simple needs or queries Available anywhere, anytime
| User assistanceRecommended if you cannot find what you need online Cases assigned to the relevant team for resolution.

If you have any other questions or concerns, you can visit the MyWorkday portal, or reach out to myself or the workday@federation.edu.au team.
