Checking our itinerary before we prepare to pack

21 August 2023

As we continue to prepare for our exciting transition to Workday, I wanted to take a moment and highlight the important role every single one of us will play in making this process as seamless as possible.

Any successful journey requires planning, preparation, and teamwork.  We will continue to let you know what’s happening every step of the way and ask that you continue to stay well informed as you prepare for using Workday people management functions – the first flight of our journey.  Our collective effort will ensure a successful transition.

With testing well underway and learning and training resources in development, it won’t be long until we'll be sharing key dates and information about ‘cutover’ activities.

Right now, we use several different systems to manage our people.  Unfortunately, we can’t just flip a switch to turn off our current systems and turn on Workday all at once. Rather, we’ll transition from these systems into Workday in careful steps. This is called ‘cutover’ and all of us will have an important role to play.

During cutover you may be asked to adhere to specific deadlines or pause certain transactions before resuming them in Workday.  Knowing that ‘go live’ will come soon after cutover will help keep us motivated! For now, please stay tuned for updates – your active participation will help make the transition smoother for everyone.

If you have any questions or concerns about the transition, don't hesitate to reach out to workday@federation.edu.au or your nearest change agent. Our dedicated support team is here to assist you and provide the guidance you need.

I am confident that with your dedication, adaptability, and enthusiasm, we will navigate this transition successfully and set the stage for our continued growth.
