Short biography
Since retiring from Monash University in 1997, Dr Spark has conducted research in Mechatronics as an Adjunct Research Fellow. He is currently an Adjunct Senior Research Fellow of Federation University Australia.
When Dr Spark retired from Monash University, he was Deputy Head of the Gippsland School of Engineering with the rank of Associate Professor. He was appointed to the Gippsland Institute of Advanced Education as a Lecturer in 1971.
Dr Spark completed his PhD at the University of Melbourne in 1971 and graduated in 1972. He was supported by a scholarship from the Australian Institute of Nuclear Science and Engineering (AINSE). He conducted much of his research at the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organization (ANSTO), Lucas Heights.
Prior to 1968, Dr Spark worked for the CSIRO Division of Tribophysics (Parkville) as an Experimental Officer.
Prior to this he worked for Copper Refineries P/L (Townville) as a Technical Assistant.
Prior to this he worked at Aeronautical Research Laboratories (ARL) (Fisherman’s Bend) as a Technical Assistant.
