Passion of Joan

The Passion of Joan of Arc (1928) by Carl Theodore Dreyer is considered a masterpiece of early silent cinema. By turns surreal, intense and deeply moving, the film continues to shock and amaze. This screening of the work will feature a curated score of gothic-inspired music by French composer Erik Satie in the centenary year of his death.

Screening of the film accompanied by a specially curated score featuring music by Erik Satie in the centenary year of his death. The Passion of Joan of Arc will be the closing event of the 2025 Ballarat International Foto Biennale.
