For over 500 years Joan of Arc’s story has been a megaphone for people who have wanted to speak or speak back to power. In this new work, our ensemble of 3rd year graduating students, along with our creative team, explore who gets to have their voice heard, and under what circumstances. We have generated text, images, music and movement sourced from Joan’s world and her trial in 1431, from George Bernard Shaw’s play Saint Joan, and from our own identities and personal histories. After Joan connects with her story, her on-going influence and what she means to us today.
