Shelley Hinton

Curator, Post Office Gallery

Shelley Hinton's background is in the visual arts, art education and arts management. She holds a Diploma of Fine Arts, Diploma of Education (Secondary) and Postgraduate Diploma of Museum Studies. Formerly a designer and teacher, Shelley has taught across a broad range of age and ability levels from primary, secondary, special needs to tertiary level students within schools, community groups and the gallery and museum sector, developing and delivering programs, resources and a broad range of public programs and events.

Previous roles include Public & Education Program Manager, the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art (ACCA); Regional Exhibition Touring Initiative Program Manager, Museums Australia (Victoria); Education Manager, Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery and Education Officer at The National Gallery of Victoria, the Ian Potter Museum of Art, The University of Melbourne, and Linden, Centre for Contemporary Arts.

In addition to her role as Curator at the Post Office Gallery in Ballarat, Shelley freelances and volunteers in a range of consultancy curatorial and education roles for the gallery and museum sector, public arts organisations, community groups and schools.
