Student services

Discover expert-driven and free student services to help you succeed at uni. From admin support to study advice and IT assistance, we've got you covered.

We’re at your service

It’s nice to be independent. Capable. Ready to forge ahead and take on the world. But it’s also okay to ask for help – especially when you’re at uni. So why not take advantage of our amazing student services – all expert-driven and (most importantly) all free. The only thing we don’t offer is room service – you’ll have to run to the café yourself.

Administration help

Student admin is – love it or hate it – unavoidable. But if you struggle with paperwork, you can ask someone at Student HQ to help you find the right forms and fill them out.

Moving to Australia

Moving to a foreign country to study isn’t easy. Our International Student Advisory team knows how to help you settle in, make the most of your experience and succeed academically.

The Library

Our librarians really know their stuff. How to search databases efficiently, find useful and trustworthy resources, understand referencing conventions, unpack assignments. And they love a challenge.

IT assistance

Have you tried turning it off and on again? Just joking. Our Information Technology Services team can give you fast, specific advice about any Federation computer system. In plain English.

Peer mentors

We know that starting uni can be scary. That’s why we have a peer mentor program. Get matched with an experienced student who will understand your nerves and help you find your feet.

The Learning Skills Advisors, the library staff, the placement team and all the lecturers were really good. I am very happy with the support. "

We remove barriers to participation

We don’t believe that one size fits all. If you need adjustments to make study possible, our Accessibility Serices team can put those alternative arrangements in place.
