Pathways

How do you get into university? Most people know the traditional Year 12* pathway: meet the entry requirements, apply via VTAC and then wait for the offer.

But what if you didn’t get the ATAR you wanted? Or you haven’t completed the prerequisite subjects? Or you haven’t completed Year 12 at all?

We accept applications from students of all backgrounds; those with previous Higher Education studies, those with prior TAFE studies, or those with relevant work and life experience. Browse our ‘how to apply’ webpage to determine your applicant category and what we will look for when assessing your application.

If you do not meet the entry requirements, or would prefer to start with preparatory studies to build your skills first, explore these pathways for the one that best suits you.

Change your preference

You may have met the entry requirements for another Federation degree.

VTAC applicants now have the freedom to change their preferences between offer rounds, which means if you change your mind, you can change your preference!

Browse our Change of Preference web page for full details.  Year 12 applicants should also explore our Guaranteed entry programs/ATARs webpage to discover the courses where you have met entry requirements
