COVID-19 support for staff

At Federation the safety and wellbeing of our staff, students and wider University community is our highest priority. As we transition the vast majority of our teaching and learning online, with essential staff maintaining our campus-based services supporting research and other critical activities, we’re working in a way few of us could have anticipated. It’s an extraordinary achievement thanks to the commitment, professionalism and flexibility of our staff.

As we establish new ways of working and new routines in responding to COVID-19, we have developed a set of online resources to support all staff transitioning to new arrangements. We have developed a set of key employment principles to assist staff understanding the implications of the current situation, including introducing a new special leave pay provision, and a reporting form for staff impacted by the virus, so we can ensure staff receive appropriate advice and support as soon as possible.

We also want to support you remaining productive and connected, with additional support for your wellbeing during this period. These resources include online learning and development options, social connection tools, team resources and health and wellbeing programs to help us maintain our collegiality and strong sense of community.

We understand at times like this staff may need additional support, and there is likely to be an increase in the number of people who are affected by family or domestic violence. View 'Counselling and other support' to find available resources.
