Siteimprove Accessibility Checker

The Siteimprove Accessibility Checker is a powerful tool which enables you to evaluate any web page for accessibility issues within your browser. It provides:

  • an immediate overview of your page’s accessibility issues
  • clear explanations on how they affect your users
  • recommendations on how to fix them

All analysis is done entirely within the Chrome browser, allowing secure evaluation of password-protected or non-public pages.

Accessing and using the checker

To download the checker to your Chrome browser, go to the Chrome Web Store Siteimprove Accessibility Checker page and select the Add to Chrome button in the top right hand corner of the page. Follow the prompts to download it to your browser.

To use the checker, go to the page you would like to evaluate and select the Siteimprove logo to the right of the address bar of your Chrome browser. The accessibility report will pop out on your web page to the left.

You can determine how much detail you see by opening the Choose filters drop-down and checking the Editor check box under the 'Choose responsibility' heading.
