Gippsland Campus Only

The Clarence Claude fisher award was established in 1979. Mr Fisher was a businessman who settled in Gippsland and after his demise in 1973 it was his wish to assist education for students studying in the Gippsland region. Each year awards are made on his behalf to Engineering and Science students who are diligent in their studies and can use the

funds to assist further progress with their studies.

Named after the first head of the psychology discipline, Dr Raymond Watson, the award is made to a Psychology student who not only shows considerable academic ability but also

demonstrates a consistent capacity to enrich the lives of others by his or her activities and manner in academic, pastoral, and extra-mural activities.

The student must be completing an APAC accredited psychology major in the Bachelor of Psychological Science, Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Arts (Rural Social Welfare). The award can only granted to students in their final Semester of study.

The student should have completed at least 20 courses at Federation University and have taken no more than five years to complete his or her undergraduate degree. The student should have attained a distinction average in the last five psychology courses taken (roughly those completed in the second or third semester.
