Latrobe Valley Geotechnical Group (LVGG)

The Latrobe Valley Geotechnical Group runs meetings every two months. This group was established at the end of 2013 for the purpose of sharing knowledge relevant to geotechnical engineering, covering not only issues of relevance to ground control in the Brown coal mines, but also wider interests covering all aspects of ground control in the Latrobe Valley.

The group is presently chaired by Dr Ali Tolooiyan. To assist with the broader development of the group and to promote wider participation from around Victoria, the group has been affiliated as an interest group with the Australian Geomechanics Society.
