Federation University Gippsland, in collaboration with Australian Paper, is offering three Masters by Research industry scholarships in the areas of microbiology, chemistry and engineering. Contribute to sustainable growth for the future by investigating the biological pathways taken by various substances in the environment. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work at FedUni’s Churchill campus and Australian Paper’s Maryvale site.

Eligibility

Relevant undergraduate degree with minimum second class Honours or equivalent. Domestic and permanent residents only.

BCIA – Brown Coal Innovation Australia / FedUni

Project

Enhanced yield and quality of humic products from lignites

Offered in partnership between Federation University Australia and Brown Coal Innovation Australia, this scholarship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on industry experience while undertaking research that will have a real-world impact on how we use carbon. Working on an exciting industry project with Omnia Specialities – an international leader in the development and manufacture of speciality fertilisers and biostimulants – the successful applicant will be able to tailor the project to suit their skill set. Over three years, this generous scholarship includes a $27,596 per year stipend to support living costs (2019 rate, indexed), $5,000 top up scholarship per year from BCIA in addition to the stipend, and $6,500 per year to support the cost of the project – no extensions permitted.

Eligibility

Honours 1 or equivalence, or Masters graduate wishing to gain research and industry experience in areas such as agronomy, process engineering and quality assurance testing. Domestic and permanent residents only.
