Biodiversity Across the Borders Conference 2017

Theme: Restoration Challenges for the 21st Century

BDAB You are invited to the seventh one-day Biodiversity Across the Borders Conference. With the theme Restoration Challenges for the 21st Century, this conference aims to communicate new ecological research to natural resource managers, the research community and those with an interest in better environmental management. This conference is jointly hosted by the Federation University Australia, La Trobe University, Deakin University, Victoria University, Charles Sturt University, University of Melbourne, Parks Victoria and other research partners.

The all-day conference will be held at the Mt. Helen campus of the Federation University Australia on Friday 9th June 2017. An exciting and eminent group of speakers will be presenting at this conference.

This year’s focus will be on:BDAB

  • Restoration outcomes – evidence-based examples from case studies (e.g. plants, animals, terrestrial, aquatic)
  • Working with the community in restoration projects – what works, what are we learning?
  • Biodiversity offsets – achieving the best outcomes, lessons learned for restoration and conservation, future issues
  • Looking to the future - landscape transformations and the priority for restoration
