A brief description of the project:

Using techniques of variational analysis, necessary and sufficient primal space slope and dual space subdifferential conditions for nonlinear error bounds will be investigated and new estimates for the corresponding moduli will be obtained. The closely related properties of nonlinear metric regularity, subregularity and calmness of set-valued mappings, which are of great importance for optimisation as well as subdifferential calculus, optimality conditions, stability and sensitivity issues, and convergence of numerical methods will be investigated.

The topic is broad, and the actual scope of the project can be negotiated and adjusted depending on the experience and research interests of the applicant. Several PhD projects within the above tentative topic are possible.
