Non year 12 applicants

Literacy/numeracy requirements

Initial Teacher Education Programs

(Program Codes: TO5, TR5, TY5, TY5, TX5, TZ5, PH5, TL5, TA5)

Where a non-year 12 applicant does not have:

  • A study score of at least 25 in English other than EAL (or 30 in EAL)
  • Satisfactory completion of:
  1. Units 1 and 2 of any study combination of General Mathematics or Mathematical Methods, or
  2. Units 3 and 4 of any Mathematics,
  • TL5 only: Study score of at least 25 in Mathematical Methods (CAS); interstate or overseas equivalent.

the applicant will be required to successfully complete an internal literacy and/or numeracy test as an extra requirement for entry.

Pathway Programs

(Program Codes: TC5, SO5, OE5)

Where a non-year 12 applicant does not have:

  • Study score of at least 20 in any English and Units 1 and 2: Satisfactory completion of two units (any study combination) of General Maths or Maths: Mathematical Methods or Units 3 and 4: any Mathematics;
  • Successful completion of FAST
  • Successful completion in one of the following:
    Previous university study, Certificate III (and industry experience of at least one year), Certificate IV or Diploma.

the applicant will be required to successfully complete an internal literacy and/or numeracy test as an extra requirement for entry.

Fast Program

All non-year 12 applicants must complete a literacy and numeracy test to demonstrate their eligibility for a place.

The online literacy and Numeracy testing dates for Mid-Year 2019 applicants will be;

Applicants unable to attend an on campus Literacy and Numeracy test may be able to complete the test online under supervision. It is the applicants responsibility to find an appropriate supervisor and agree a time to complete the test during the available test windows.

To register for the online test, please complete the Invigilator Nomination Form and email this to admissions@federation.edu.au by the registration closing date.
