Biography

Michelle Briede is the Program Coordinator of Federation University Australia’s pathway programs: Foundation Access Studies (FAST), and Diploma of University Studies (DipUS). Michelle lectures into both programs in the School of Education.

Michelle’s research interests include socially responsible pathways to university, students’ experiences of higher education, the role of staff in enabling programs, transition within education settings, and educational pedagogies and practices. Michelle is currently researching and publishing in the areas of enabling, and pathways into higher education.

Michelle’s current projects and publications include student characteristics, success and experiences of enabling within higher education, the role of enabling educators, and the self-identity and agentic behaviours of enabling students. Her research and further studies include access, transition and best practice in tertiary education practices.
