Linda is a lecturer in the School of Education. She has considerable teaching experience in primary schools in a wide range of settings as a specialist and generalist classroom teacher. During that time Linda taught in a variety of content areas and year levels in both the private and state system in Victoria, Queensland and England.
Linda's research has investigated how student ownership and personal connections are affected by integrating science in the literacy block, resulting in a presentation at a STAVCON conference to inform other teachers of the success this can have. She has been involved in creating Teacher Kits for a May Gibbs Children's Literature Trust exhibition and assisted with a whole school development of a Gifted policy and program. Linda’s current research explores how best to support pre-service teachers to make connections between theoretical perspectives and contemporary classroom practice and supporting success for beginning teachers.
