CRCAH doctoral candidate
David is writing a history of Child and Family Services Ballarat (CAFS), a community sector organisation that has been in Ballarat since 1865, when it was established as the Ballarat District Orphan Asylum. David's project will strengthen CAFS and its current and future operations by placing them within broader local and national historical contexts. More importantly the thesis will help build the collective stories of 'home' with past residents and service users.
The CAFS history is part of a broader project that has seen the establishment of the CAFS Legacy and Research Centre.
David is working closely with researchers from the Central Highlands Child and Youth Area Partnership to help build the foundations for improving the outcomes, experiences and lives of young people and families in the region.
