Assoc. Prof Damian Morgan
Damian’s research interest in outdoor recreation focus on risk management for visitors and businesses servicing visitors. Damian has a specific interest in safety management for aquatic and coastal activities. Research projects include analysis of public liability in tourism from insurance data, development of a risk management training program for small tourism businesses, epidemiological investigation of surf bather drowning, appraisal of sustainable workplace practices for employees across power generating, water utility and education industries, development of a regional resilience monitor, evaluation for a rock fisher safety campaign, estimation of beachgoer’s exposure to poor water quality based on water quality forecasting, and measuring visitor satisfaction across Gippsland.
