Art Collection

Federation University seeks to develop and maintain a permanent collection of high quality works of visual art for the cultural enrichment of its student body, staff and wider community. The art collection consists largely of works by Australian artists, dating from 1909. The collection also includes various contemporary prints, ceramics, graphics, paintings and sculptures chiefly by graduates, postgraduates and staff of the University.

Accessing the collection

The Art Collection is housed on site at Mt Helen Campus Library and in an offsite store. Items from the Art Collection cannot be borrowed from the Library. Items must be used within the Blainey Reading Room.

Visitors are welcome to access the collection in the Geoffrey Blainey Research Centre (GBRC) during opening hours or by appointment.
