Student study spaces
Gnarrwirring Karrung (Narrowing Ker Ung) S building
Located diagonally opposite the Mt Helen Campus Library, the ground floor of the S building houses a vibrant student space that students can access from 8am to 8pm, Monday to Friday, with access via swipe card from 8pm to 8am.
This space contains nine group study rooms, a kitchenette, vending machines, unisex toilets, printing facilities, open collaborative study spaces, study corrals, and you might even bump into one of the Library's roving staff, offering a helping hand.
Learning and quiet study spaces
The Mt Helen Library has a number of student spaces to cater for a range of study styles, from beanbags and couches on levels nine and one, to the private study rooms that are found on level one. These study rooms are bookable, and can be accessed during Library opening hours. There is also the quiet study space that is located on level two of the Library. This is a peaceful area with a large number of study carrels. These spaces can be accessed during Library opening hours.
Located in rooms F302, F303, F304 and F305, these spaces are primarily computer labs but also hold vending machines, a kitchenette, printing facilities, and an open collaborative space.
After hours space
The west annex of the SMB Library is now open:
Mon-Fri 7am - 9am
Mon-Fri 5pm - 10pm
Sat-Sun 7am - 10pm
Students enrolled in programs at SMB and Camp Street can enter the area during these hours with student ID swipe access. If you don't have access, please Contact the Library to have your ID card enabled.
This space includes collaborative learning areas, computers, printing facilities, a kitchenette and a vending machine.
Library meeting room
Group study space
The Gippsland Library’s group study space (found in rooms 1E207, 208, 208A, 208B) is available when the Library is open via the main entrance and after hours with student ID swipe access. This space contains various tables and chairs, a vending machine, audio-visual equipment, student computers, printing facilities, portable white-boards, and fixed glass boards.
Library group discussion room
Located in rooms 1E-213 and 1E-214, these spaces are primarily computer labs and are accessible with student ID swipe access for times outside of Library opening hours.
Old Ballarat Public Library
The Camp Street Arts Academy has an excellent space within the Old Ballarat Public Library. Here students can find a kitchenette, vending machines, computers, printing facilities and open collaborative study spaces.
Group study space
The Berwick Campus Library has an open collaborative study space with printing facilities, computers for student use, and two bookable discussion rooms, these can be accessed during Library opening hours.
Located in room #G96, Building 903, this space is primarily a computer lab. Students have automatic access to this space via their student ID cards between 6am - 10pm (when the main buildings and entrance doors are still open). After 10pm access is available by calling security on 03 5122 8555, or by entering the external door near the security office to gain access from the main desk.
Group study area
The Wimmera Campus Library at Horsham has open study areas with couches, group study space, computers and printing facilities.
FedUni also has a large number of computer labs, available to students to use. Please be aware that some of these do require swipe access by student ID cards or might be required as scheduled classrooms during semesters. There is also a bookable discussion room, available during Library opening hours.
Meeting and group study rooms
Students have access to group study rooms and computer labs on Level 6 and 7 during opening hours. Group study rooms do not require reservations. For more information about where study rooms and computer labs are located, please see Reception staff for assistance.
