Current Library services

Students and staff are now welcome back to all our campus libraries. Come to the Library to use a PC or solo study space, receive assistance from InfoPoint staff, use the printer/scanner, or collect a hold placed using our new Click and Collect service.

View current opening hours for each of our campus libraries, or see below for more information about accessing our services.

Studying on campus

Individual study spaces are available for students that provide access to a computer and Wi-Fi at all campuses. See which spaces are available for use at your campus.

Each study space meets the Victorian Government's COVID-19 social distancing and hygiene requirements. Touchpoint cleaning will take place routinely. Wipes are provided for these areas for students to clean their own space before and after use. Please wash your hands thoroughly before and after using the space and do not attend if you are feeling unwell.

Due to social distancing recommendations, study spaces cannot be used for group study sessions.

Please feel free to contact us if you need help to access any of our services. Give us a call on 1300 552 567 or chat with us online via InfoPoint Chat. You can also email us at libinfo@federation.edu.au.

Library classes

Liaison Librarians are able to offer skills development to students in a number of ways:

  • A synchronous class using Adobe Connect that can be recorded and placed into Moodle
  • A face-to-face on-campus class held in your tutorial room or a Library training room, delivered in a COVIDSafe manner
  • The creation of videos tailored to your class’ needs can be placed into Moodle
  • The creation of Moodle resources such as books that students can work through at their own pace

Please contact your School liaison librarian to arrange for a class, or to discuss your specific teaching needs further.

Research assistance

For research related enquiries, please contact your School liaison librarian.

Staying safe

We want to provide the safest environment possible for our staff and students. We ask that you help us to do this, by respecting the well-being of your fellow students and Federation University staff by following the recommendations of the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services anytime you are on campus to return books or use the study spaces.

Wear a mask, wash and sanitise your hands, and follow physical distancing recommendations by staying 1.5 metres from other people wherever possible.  If you feel unsafe on campus for any reason, including other students ignoring social distancing guidelines, call Federation University Security for assistance.

We're also working hard behind the scenes to keep you safe by quarantining that all returned library materials for an appropriate amount of time to minimise the risk of spreading COVID. Increased cleaning schedules are in place for all campuses, in accordance with the recommendations of the State's Health Departments.
