LOVE, Geoff (1950- )

Melbourne born Geoff Love obtained a science and Masters degree from La Trobe University, and a PhD from Colorado State University. He lectured in Physics at the Ballarat Institute of Advanced Education before joining the Bureau of Meteorology in 1975, Geoff Love was Regional Director, Northern Territory between 1985 and 1987.
Moving to Melbourne in 1987 Geoff Love held the position of Superintendent of the National Meteorological Centre, was appointed Deputy Director (Services) in 1997, and Director of the Bureau of Meteorology in 2003. In 2008 Geoff Love started a new position in Geneva as Director of the United Nations Agency World Meteorological Organisation.
